The planet welcomed us as its children and gave us everything we needed to live. But somewhere along the way, we drifted away from her. We began to divide what never belonged to individuals. We drew lines on maps and called them borders. And we turned home into territory to be fought over. Today, on one side of the world, children die of hunger. On the other, we spend billions on weapons whose only purpose is destruction. We have science, technology, and resources so that no one would have to suffer. And yet we chose to invest in death instead of life. We live on a planet capable of sustaining us all. In a world with enough water, land, and energy for every human being. Yet instead of cooperation, we choose competition. Instead of humanity, we choose hatred. We share the same air and the same ocean. Our rivers flow across continents, and the trade winds circle the Earth. The planet knows no borders — only balance. And that balance we have broken. Global warming is the voice of the Earth that can no longer be ignored. It is a message that everything we do returns to us. That the comfort of some comes at a price paid by others. And that today, the innocent suffer the consequences of others’ greed.
